Research Assistant: Massachusetts General Hospital

Hi,

I am hoping that you can help. I am a project director for a national smoking cessation study for parents who smoke. We are in need of a research assistant to help us collect data. We are having trouble finding an RA in Chillicothe and were wondering if you had any places where you could post a position or if you knew of anyone who might be able to help.

The position would be perfect for those used to working with children and families.

Do you have any suggestions? Would you be able to post the position? The description is below.

Thank you so very much!

Bethany Hipple, MPH
Massachusetts General Hospital
Project Director

---------------------------------------------

A Research Assistant (RA) is needed for up to 12 weeks for a national clinical trial conducted by Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. The study is funded by the National Cancer Institute.

The RA will conduct exit interviews with parents who attend their children's medical visits at the pediatric office.  The RA will approach all parents on their way out of the office and ask them a short set of questions.  Parents who smoke and agree to enroll in the study will be consented and asked additional questions, which will take approximately
5-10 minutes.  Recruitment will likely last about 6 to 12 consecutive weeks.  Exact schedule of the RA will depend on the hours of the practice, but part-time is possible.

Prior experience in data collection, interviewing and/or customer service is preferred.  An outgoing personality and a clear speaking voice are assets. Criminal background check is required.

Pay: $10/hour (negotiable); contract position.

To be considered for the position, please email resume to bhipple@mgh.harvard.edu<mailto:bhipple@mgh.harvard.edu>
