Description: Working in the newly formed Media
Communication Center, the Media Producer and Coordinator will work autonomously
to generate well-crafted video. This position
will coordinate, create, capture, and document campus stories through
traditional and new media delivery systems to ensure that Heidelberg culture is
captured and shared with many audiences.
Strong candidates will have proven record of creating
continuity and thematic audio/video productions, an expertise and comfort
performing in various media production environments; expertise in single and
multiple camera productions, expertise in preparing content for distribution
over various platforms, understanding of liberal arts culture.
Candidates must be able to interact well with MCC clients,
students and staff, be able to process, organize and prepare content within
tight production deadlines. Must have
excellent communication and clerical skills, ability to multi-task, and be a
self-directed problem solver.
Qualifications: a bachelor’s degree in journalism,
communication, or a similar field; a minimum of one year of related experience
creating and presenting media; expert-level knowledge and understanding of
media production methods, technology, and best practices, excellent writing and
interpersonal skills.
Working
Conditions: Office, field and studio
environments and occasional travel, ability to lift 25 lbs., late afternoon,
evenings and weekend work. Position will
include some administrative/secretarial duties.
Projected start date is January 2013.

Utilize public relations tactics to grow our community and sell more books.
The position will prepare and disseminate information regarding Gooseberry Patch through newspapers, periodicals, television, radio and other forms of media. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Writing
Write a comprehensive plan, incorporating guerrilla marketing and other budget-maximizing techniques, for identifying, and targeting influencers and reviewers
Write press releases, tip sheets and manage event publicity and oversee press release distributions and publication targets
Write clear and compelling pitch letters, press releases and by-line articles and pitch stories to US, Canadian and local media to achieve high visibility in print, broadcast, TV and online media
Keep abreast of all new business opportunities and forms of promotion
Relationship Building
Work to gain new contacts and develop key relationships to promote and increase Gooseberry Patch name recognition and its various service / product offerings
Create relationships with key journalists in US and Canada business and trade publications, digital and social media channels, while ensuring all aspects of the brand are publicized in the correct channels on a constant basis
Cultivate and grow our book reviewer program in accordance with company initiatives
Using the brand voice, work with the Social Media Content Manager to facilitate and maintain relationships with community
Communication
Drive Public Relations efforts for all business initiatives (products, licensing, etc) while developing, promoting and protecting the brand
Monitor and respond to all requests and inquiries from journalists
Maximize brand positioning by meeting regularly with book editors and marketing team members
Work effectively with internal departments to maintain a positive outlook and the consistent message of the brand
Tracking
Self Tracking - track results and effectiveness of company press releases, book announcements and other public relations initiatives as well as seek room for improvement
Opportunity Tracking - tracking/awareness of opportunities in wholesale markets, retail openings, press correspondence and general driving awareness to the brand.
Competitive Tracking - inform the marketing team of company-related and competitive-related press activities

COLUMBUS RADIO GROUP: PT Promo Assistant - POST 2 WEEKS
Candidate will be working on-site events/remotes for the Columbus Radio Group Cluster (Sunny 95, Mix 107.9 and Rewind 103.5/104.3), including the set up and breakdown of the promotional tent, broadcast equipment and interacting with listeners. Additional duties include organizing station vehicles and equipment. Office duties may include calling winners, filing, faxing, internet research and other duties as needed.
Must be able to work up to 29 hours a week including nights and weekends. Radio/Promotion experience required. Must have excellent written and verbal and interpersonal communication skills. This position requires someone with a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent driving record and be able to lift 50-60 lbs. of multiple items differing in size and shape. Qualified candidate must be at least 21 years old.
